How about 1953-1970? One great big long worst moment for you Rainham! Out of the cup at Peterborough, Rotherham etc. and never challenging for anything.

League cup final against Swindon. My mate and I left the country immediately after the game and did not comeback for over a year. Just could'nt go back to work.

Well we did have some highlights.I remember over one Christmas we beat Fulham to go second but by New Year we were mid-table again.Of course in 1958 the greatest game ever played anywhere was at Highbury against Man U.Also in that period we never came lower than 14th and once we came third and and another time we came fourth.In the 1956/57 season we got to the 6th round of the FA Cup and in the 1968/69 season we got to the Final of the League Cup but were beaten my mighty Swindon.

Liverpool FA Cup final I was gutted when we lsot it after we'd out played them.

1 )UEFA cup winner's cup V Real Zaragoza, I was only 8 but remember it clearly, Hartson equalising only to be lobbed by Nayem in extra time. I went to bed in tears and the next day in school was all jokes about lobbing "seaman" from 50 yards.

2 )That and Gigg's goal at villa park - what a kick in the balls that was
