Also AK. Wembley wasn`t built until 1923. It`s strange how we`ve played them in several semi finals but not one final. Conspiracy anyone?

snappy welcome back to dear old Blighty.Hope you had a good holiday.Where abouts in Spain did you go,wasn`t Murcia was it?.
The Message Board is going through a bit of a crisis with quite a few well known posters jumping ship.Phoenix is at war with the Mods over culling past threads including `Old Gits` but we have started another one.

Not far from Murcia, just up the coast near Torrevieja. Not bad weather but two days of lashing rain and very cold wind.

Thinking last night about the most bizarre Arsenal game I`ve ever seen. The cup replay at Bolton two years ago had me laughing; two Brazilians blazing penalties over the bar, Ade hitting the post of an unprotected goal from about two feet! The home game v Charlton when we out played them completely but lost 4-2. The home game v Blackburn when we had about 35 attempts at goal, they had one and we lost 2-1. Any additions?

Welcome back snappy and happy new year to the resident wise heads of the thread.

That was my thought exactly, and it's why I asked the Question. Apart from the CS in 91/92, we havent played a major final there with them.. The CS is not a final even! I do think it's a conspiracy, especially as we would have drawn them had we gone past burnley in the CC QF.

A final between us 2 would be unpolicable IMO

Another bizarre game was against Boro (I think) when two Brazillians scored two own goals so Boro`s stats were `Shots 0,On Target 0,Goals 2`

That was bizarre. This was before the membership scheme and, as I`d missed out on the TRS, tickets were impossible to get. Our nephew was up from Kent to stay with us that weekend so I took him to the Arsenal shop to get him a TH14 shirt, then we walked down to the ground and stood outside for a while. Have you ever been outside when a game is going on? Very strange experience. From Avenell Road you could see the big screen. From the crowd noise we could tell things weren`t going well and the screen told us the score so we went home, grateful by this time we couldn`t get tickets!

Rainham, Reg,

I would love to hear any stories about Copenhagen if you went or indeed Paris the year after.

My parents wouldn't let me go to Paris Frowner

The Paris experience for me was really good fun. Arrived reasonably early met some other fans at our hotel and had a few drinks with the Barca fans, drinking from porrons etc. They were friendly and I found no problems until after the game, when I felt the French riot police tried to antagonise our fans as we left the stadium. Could'nt get trains back to where we wanted to go because they would not let us go in the direction we wanted. However walked most of the way back to the hotel, slept over and got on a very unhappy ferry the next afternoon.

Rainham... What is the best goal you have ever seen and what is the most destressing moment as an arsenal fan?

Without a doubt young whippersnapper the best goal was Michael Thomas at Liverpool in 1989 and the most distressing moment was seconds after Ade scored at Liverpool last season was when Babel (may he forever be cursed) threw himself into the penalty area.
