For goodness sake, let's all calm down.

I admit I have been a Kroenke fan since the first day he was mentioned. I have friends in the USA who say he has been good for the clubs he has taken on and is a genuine sports fan. He is also in it for the long-term and not a get-rich-quick out of sport merchant.

In the current world of soccer I do not believe we will be able to compete with the top clubs who are gaining more investement without soemeone who can back us if we need it. And I don't see why our club and Kroenke cannot both profit from the tie-up.

Kroenke is a shrewd businessan who is going about hoovering up small parcels of shares with the knowledge and support of key Board members. Fitz backs him fully and even Hill-Wood has now said he is relaxed about what Kroenke is doing and supports it. Both say Kroenke wants to keep things as they are, even if he does go for a take-over. If they were worried they would have said so.

I do not know whether he wants a take-over but I do know the side he is on has effective control of the club anyway. This would block any other take-over which I am glad of.

If he offers money for all shares and if Usmanov takes the money, it will show Usmanov was only ever in it for the money. If he doesn't take the money, or if Kroenke doesn't go for a take-over - we are left precisely where we are now but with two potentially rich backers both heavily involved in the club - which could be good for the future.

I know some people want things to remain as they have always been but football is changing and Kroenke offers us a chance to move with the times without destroying everything of the past

I accept I could be totally wrong and everything could come crashing down in a few months but let's not get carried away with this Keep Arsenal Pure idea. To begin with, we haven't been pure for some time and secondly, some foreign ownership of English soccer has been very beneficial. We should not tar every potential investor with the brush of the worst ones.

Needed my daily amusement, RR, and figured this thread would be good for it; it certainly didn't disappoint!

FCUM - refers to the Football Club Manchester United where the supporters turned their back on the club they supposedly supported until they died - they didn't (errr... to clarify they didn't die and they didn't support the club til the end of time Wink) and instead when Glazer bought the club they formed their own football club.

Hope you're doing well and staying happy!

Well for all the Arsenal Usmanov haters and the board if it goes ti.. up cause of this guy you have yourself to blame.
I would have chosen Usmanov a year ago but he would ruin the club apparently. No mention of the 8 Billion fortune he has. Kroenke needs profit from Arsenal alot more than Usmanov does FACT

Usmanov took a big hit in the Credit Crunch and according to Forbes he is now worth less than the Kronk.

When talking about the Kronks fortune I assume you have to take into account his wifes money as she is heir to the Wal-Mart empire. If she is the sole heir the mind boggles.Perhaps Sierra can enlighten us on that.

Only if you believe the sugar daddy route is the way to go. Could be why we are treading the path we are on.

1) Isn't Usmanov as well? Kroenke doesn't even like football let alone support anyone.
2) In America. Successful in a profit sense, or on the pitch sense, or both? Nothing to do with how he'd do at Arsenal.
3) Is this a fact? He's totally hands off? Whys he on our executive board then? We are suddenly launching American websites and having "relationships" with his American sides. He must be getting involved somewhere.
4) Its just not is it. He will load us with debt. Why is he better than Usmanov.

Please bear in mind I want NEITHER. But I hate pro-Kroenke propaganda that ignores his key down sides, one being that he can't afford to buy Arsenal.

Kroenkes in it for the love of the game of course.

Its odd how Usmanov is derided for potentially usingh us as a rich mans plaything, then suddenly he's only in it for the money. Kroenke is the hard nosed profiteer. Not Usmanov, if we are being honest.

Perhaps its because Usmanov has a criminal past which he has vigorously tried to bury (funny that the president who pardoned him is one of his best friends)

Simple fact is Kroenke has the experience to succeed with a sports club - Usmanov knows nothing in comparison and lets not forget Usmanov wants the club to issue dividends to its share holders - money that would be of better use being invested in the club.
