Unfortunately, rather like at Liverpool, the result of having people like this running your club, is that you end up in the sports pages for the wrong reasons.
He does not have the money, and must get debt finance to find it. In a worldwide recession where debt finance is very expensive. Anyway, the board invited him in, so they must be prepared to wait for their cash....
it makes the pro Kroenke brigade even harder to figure out.
Most of the pro-Kroenke brigade have little idea about the mechanics of financing these sort of things, they just see "but we can buy Kaka and pay Eboue 200k a week, and not get left behind..."
I've always said, if we MUST get a foreign takeover, get an arab sheikh or oligarch with cash to burn, not someone that needs to borrow up to their eyeballs. Banks don't just write off debts, they repossess stadiums.
Not when there is land in Islington worth multi millions they wouldn't though... only problem is it has a stadium on it... but that could be knocked down couldn't it?

I`m not sure about them either what about the Portsmouth Arab who had to sell the Club on as he couldn`t raise the cash. Man City fans are wetting themselves with glee that their Sheikh is providing unlimited funds as a gift and they have no debt but they have a net debt of nearly £140m. If it`s true about Kroenke not being able to pay ths full amount for the shares he purchased then thats cause for concern

Yeah they have a net debt, but its unlikely that the sheikh doesn't ahve the cash. We can see at Liverpool thats not always the case.
Don't misunderstand me here. I'm totally against a takeover, I don't want any more debt.
But if people really want higher transfer fees and higher wages, but NOT higher ticket prices, someone will need to pay for it, somewhere.
