Piers Morgan has finally & belatedly apologised for his part in the vicious media witch hunt after the troubled events in Copenhagen during the 2001 UEFA Cup Final.
His apology is printed in today’s Daily Mail on Sunday Bit late for the Arsenal supporters who were hounded out of their jobs & suffered greatly from these unfounded allegations at the time.
Hopefully the club will now consider the bans imposed on supporters afterwards & do the right thing.
It has taken Morgan 8 years to say sorry and it will take more than a few lines in a newspaper, 37 Arsenal fans were banned from Highbury because of Morgan, no one was ever charged with any offence, quite a few lost the jobs as well, all because of Morgan,
Here here REG, We will never forgive Morgan, i owe my life to you and p from watford if you and him had not pushed me out of the way of that knife welding turk i would not be here today, i thank you dear REG
As to why HG5, the Mirror published random photos of Arsenal fans in Copenhagen 2000. None of the 37 were arrested whilst in Denmark, none were arrested or convicted back in the UK.
However, Arsenal decided in their wisdom to ban 37 fans from Highbury. Some of the 37 lost their jobs and a couple successfully sued for wrongful dismissal. The club still refused to lift the ban.
It has taken eight years for Morgan to admit he was wrong, and as I hoped earlier, it would be nice if his apologists on here and AFC would do the same . . . but I doubt it. They have their own agenda.

I'm still waiting for the club & police to take action against the culprits involved in the disgraceful troubles inside the ground against Everton a while back.
Or because the perpatrators are from the more affluent section of the clubs support, corporate / club level supporters, perhaps these incidents will be forgotten about due to financal considerations
