Just wondering im a bit short on cash the next couple of months, cant go to burnly as i cant afford hotle and train, but want to go to pompy i can scrape enough together for a train and hotel but if if the coaches get back into london on time to catch the last tubes back to liverpool street to get back to rayleigh then i might risk it.

Thanks.

I cannot remember how long it takes. I think it's about 21/2 hours, but wouldn't swear to it. Do you drive? If so, you just need to get to South Mimms, because they pick up there. Have you asked the SE Essex SC if anyone is going? They may be prepared to give you a lift, for a small fee. I have a friend who may be driving from Billericay.

I know that they are Rayleigh based. It should be on the list of SCs on Arsenal.com ( I think they are official now ). If you cannot find it, I'll try to get the contact through the guy who is trying to set up our N Essex SC.

Don`t know if the offer is still on, but last month National Express were offering travel to Portsmouth ( and Southampton ) for £1 each way.

Travel to Portsmouth is REALLY easy. I live on the Portsmouth line.

You can travel for £1 each way on train(?!) or bus on megabus. On Megabus train(!!) you have to take a slower route but it will only add 30 minutes. National Express also offer the journey for £1.

However off peak return via SW Trains on teh fast trains from Waterloo to Fratton won't set you back more than about £25 (without any railcard discounts etc.) and you can easily get back to London or even Essex without the need for hotel.
