Why would people post when their posts are greeted by zzzzzzz or some other insult, telling them to go elsewhere, or where they are personally abused just for offering their views?
For those who have a bit more stamina and can ignore this ****, the issue then comes down to the quality of the debate. And then the same poster rears his head again and turns almost every thread into a school playground. So those that want to debate just can't be bothered.
There have been some lively debates over the years when many of us have trod a fine line and sometimes gone over it. Usually it was entertaining, not always for the participants. But now one poster is switching people off this forum in their tens because it is just boring, with the same joke/insult repeated 30 times a day by someone who thinks it is still funny.
So imo, one supposed Arsenal fan is killing the official forum, and the rest are just letting it happen.
Dont worry it i will pick up soon, I sense a forum romance is on the cards. Love is in the air.
we should all boycott this forum for 48 hours, so the mods will spend 12 hours a day just twiddling there thumbs with nothing to do.
and we all ignore radford149
i do ignore him, but not because he offends me, just because he is boring and unoriginal.
my point is that imo he drives away a large number of people who would otherwise post, and also that those who aren't bothered or offended just can't be bothered anymore because he ruins most threads ... I fall in the latter category .. I'm not wasting time contributing to threads only to find they descend into a series of zzzzzzzz and counter zzzzzzzzz and then end up discussing what he had for dinner, and why he doesn't like foreigners ...
what am I saying you should do? I don't know really ... but as usual there is apathy .. people just stop posting and no decent threads get started ... its fellow posters that allow that to happen ..

Firstly I totally agree.
1. Recently the forum is being made utterly boring by the poster that you refer to.
2. Further back it wasn't help by some idiots being abusive about certain contributors who were not English. Because this poster was not English and stood up for herself and despite the fact that she attended every Arsenal game, she was despised by many who attend a fraction of the games that she attended and still attends. Some morons should remember that Arsenal is a broad church.
3. There is little or no debate or quality posting here anymore and some of us who used to post often find that there is nothing of intellience posted for days at a time
4. The original poster of this thread is 100% correct but still got abuse from an idiot
I actually quite like Radish he does actually make some very good points when he's not being the village idiot, but to try and blame one person for 'making the forum quiet' is frankly ridiculous. Someone can only bother you if you let them.

They're lucky it wasn't me they picked on. I'd have torn their femtolitre sized brains to pieces

i like a lot will browse and if something catches my eye will contribute. lately it has been poor, dont know if its lazy posters who treat it like a self-indulgent show. also to blame are the likes of myself who rarely start a topic. i find sometimes the feeling of whats the point when its becomes a forum for personal arguments rarther than football chat. also the likes of radford (who when sensible can put a decent view) really think that they are the only true Arsenal supporters here. dont agree with everything they say but would have to say Swede,Van persie and reg are three of a few that at least post readable views.
Swede I think I know who you mean! However it is not just that poster, in fact I find him/her/you harmless. Other patterns are just as destructive. For example, I have not been in here much lately. I posted twice today regarding the Irish/ Henry debate. I hoped that my posts would build on the ongoing discussion but there were no response except off topic messing around from three posters. My paranoia led me to suspect that they wanted to post enough to get to a new page based on their belief that the rest of us don't have the stamina to read through the whole thread, only the latest page. I have noticed this pattern often with other interesting posts too. It's a shame. I don't know what's happening. I wish ...
