We all show disappointment in different ways, Digger. Some people will beat their chests and scream to the heavens, others will get a stiffer spine and upper lip, still others will lose their heads and have a go at the referees (which results in them showing 'passion' but also in us losing a player for games if they are sent off).
Why was the 'incident at Brum beyond shameful'? You winge and moan and carry on like a dog in heat about players not showing any passion or acting like winning matters - and then you call a display of bitter disappointment (following a pretty traumatic incident on top of it) 'beyond shameful'.

Granted he might have been a bit more tender with Theo - but tell me honestly, did Tony Adams *never* have a go at a player for not playing up to snuff?

And... I guess I need your definition of sportsmanship since this is the second time that you've used it about a player that you don't seem to rate.
(1) I've been on these boards for 1 week and have made only a handful of posts about players - and have yet to make a post about players not showing any passion or acting like winning matters

(2) You have an internet connection and can read - look up Sportsmanship for yourself since clearly in your love of sports youve never received any instruction on it

(3) I have yet to say that I dont rate a player. Not agreeing with a player's professional conduct on or off the pitch does not mean I do not rate them

(4) Opinions are like ******** - everyone has them and Im entitled to mine

Thank you

Your definition of Sportsmanship differs from mine and any that I can look up -- but thanks for the suggestion. Obviously you can't define why you feel that Gallas and Adebayor (I think that's the other player you noted) lack sportsmanship.

My point exactly - you've made a handful of posts and yet twice today alone you've dwelled on sportsmanship. Obviously since another poster asked you about it on another thread, they too must either be unable to read or understand instruction in sports.

Yep, you're definitely entitled to be an opinion! You're welcome!
Gallas didn't show passion though. Henry at Newcastle, about 4/5 years ago was showing passion at a wrong decision (I think he got sent off for it?). Gallas was sulking and being petulant
OK he showed passion on the pitch..what about still trying to make Clichy feel like he started world war 3 by having a go at him in the Birmingham dressing room until GB19 stepped in and told him enough is enough.

Crying on the pitch does not make him more passionate than Kolo or Clichy imo

I mean AW had to walk towards him b4 he got up........

tell me when did Clichy need the Captains arm more to say " it' OK son it happens sometimes"...that incident recked Clichy's confidence/performance till the season ended...he kept on feeling sorry for that mistake all till the end..of the season

get my point...Sierra...
The players fear him ....trust me not respect him imo.....that is not captaincy....that is bothering on....something else....

Sierra we have no choice and AW does not like to rock the boat by changing it now...bar that....he knows Gallas will throw his toys out of the pram if he takes it away from him...unlike GB19 who just took it like a man....

I've said it over and over agiain...Gallas's passion is not Arsenal Passion...it's for himself. kind of like " see me chavs" "i've done better than you lot" .he now has to find a way of transferring/translating that to the team....

All the same I stand by Wenger ...on this

I'll let you into a little secret...

1. I've known Ade b4 he joined AFC...on a personal basis

I'll leave it at that...but I also know 6 more members of the team on a personal basis..as in we talk on the phone now and again

You do not need to ask too much b4 you know they fear him as a skipper..

Funny enough Gallas at home is as soft as they come....Gentle...Niceey Nicey...but on the pitch he has this mentality that it's a war out there and seems not to know the limit...

TH14 had that kind of attitude as well but was respected more than this kids respect Gallas.

Take it from me.....Those boys fear Gallas...

This is not the place to talk personal stuff....may b one of these days....I'll let you know more about how close I am to at least half of the team members....

DOAKY you are trying to force words out of my mouth somehow

After the Milan game...my plane landed shortly b4 the AFC team plane at Luton airport.

The atmosphere was cool, no pressure no press...04:20 am if I am right..

Every single AFC team/Managerial member that walked into the airport lobby was in the best mood you could ever get...i mean we just conquered the mighty Ac Milan against all odds and what the press said about us...

Spoke to Cesc and RVP (who is normally quiet for good 5 minutes)
Flamini engaged me for over 10 minutes.....

Ade was walking towards the bus and I called him over to take pictures

Wenger was walking towards me....I said...Sir...he said hello..
I said good game....He held his hands out and I held it and acted as if I was kissing his foot...he laughed..

i spoke to AW for at least 3 minutes while he was heading for the bus....

ended up by saying good luck at wigan and he said we need it...

Even Danny Fitzman came out...and was taking pictures and talking to supporters about 10 in number ..not a crowd at all

While I was talking to Clichy and Theo...Gallas walked towards me and I said what up..Skipper..he looked at me and said...Hi, waved his hands to the guys near him not to take pictures of move near him and walked off while I was congratulating him......

I said to Clichy and Theo...what's with all that while everyone is happy here...

Clichy goes he's like that when we have a game in a few days time..."moody and concentrating"
Theo goes.....most of the time he sits alone at the back of the bus on his own....so we do not talk until we get into the dressing room. he ends up with...a sigh....it's scary sometimes.....

Congratulated them both and they walked towards the team bus.

Sent Gallas a text afterwards to say what was all that about...I just wanted a few AFC supporters to say hi to their skipper...

He replied me by saying...Sorry was not the best atmosphere....may be another time.

Seen him a few times since then and he seems to have loosened up a bit when it comes to meeting fans/people outside the stadium....

That is why I am hopeful, he'll make a better captain this season

Best of luck G.....like he likes to be called

Don't know who thinks the players fear him, Doaky (sometimes the ignore function is a deficit), but I know for a fact from talking to those who are around the dressing room and around the players that the players respect him and don't fear him as they did a previous captain. He is, I've been told, very much like a father-mentor to the lads, but can be tough as nails if they screw up, while also being very friendly and joking with them at other times (remember the kick-bar challenge? players don't react to another player like they did if they fear him constantly).

Still not read anything on here to say the players fear him...maybe they just give him the space and respect for a player that does things his way.

For me the Captain of the team has to be a player who is irreplaceable in the team and guaranteed his place in the starting line up.

We have Sagna, Clichy, RVP, and Cesc that fall into that category. Gallas doesn't make it because he is simply to error prone. I cannot work out why he and Kolo don't work but they don't. I worry that by giving him the armband he will be protected from being dropped when he isn't performing well.
