throw on Vela instead of Adebayor. We was winning - we know what Adebayor is all about. Vela needs some match fitness after getting a little knock playing for Mexico? and to give the fans something to see which we haven't seen Vela yet in a competitive match?
I agree and made the same point elsewhere on here. I can only assume as we were playing a poor team that they fancied giving Adebayor a runout so he could try to find the net and some form.
Personally allowing Vela or Wilshere the chance to shine against poor opposition mite have raised moral better for the fans - ie look at these talents, thats why we wont buy anybody!

Agree it would have benefited them, I just think it would have benefited Ade more especially with us needing to find some form in the prem.. and he's going to be playing those games... not vela or Wilshire
I think Wenger also wanted to avoid the controversy that would have probably occurred if he completely dropped Ade instead of putting him on the bench. It now appears he was being rested rather than dropped (even if that was not the case) and Arsene has avoided some difficult questions....
I Believe Sierra has posted an excerpt from Wengers post match interview which explains why Vela didn't get a look in. More than reasonable.. and frankly Wilshire won't be playing alot this year in the first team unless we get the same sort of injuries that West Ham had last year.

If he makes the bench for these games he cant be too far away from getting a game. Tho when Rosicky and Diaby come back he will be limited to CarlingCup, plus i'd think if our club had as many injuries as WestSpam last year Wilshere would be captain.
He's got til the 30November to become our yougest ever league player - i hope he makes it
