Was at the game today, heres how i saw it.

Negatives

Bendtner: Proved yet again hes not good enough to play for Arsenal, one of the worst individual performances ive ever seen.

Denilson: I dont dislike the lad, but I just dont think he has 'it' to make it at Arsenal. Also the worst corner taker i've ever seen (Even though he didnt take any today)

Walcott: Wasnt even close to being good enough to start for us up until January where he drastically improved. I really like him now, but he had a bad game today. (Still think hes gonna have a GREAT season).

General goalkeeper situation: Almunia is decent, but thats it. More than happy for him to be one of two main keepers in the squad. However if he gets injured, we have Fabianski and Mannone in the match day squad. 'Shudders'. Just cements the point that we need a keeper, but we know its not gonna happen. Sad Carson has just been sold for £4m. Confused

Positives

Ramsey: WOW, best player on the pitch today by an absolute mile, different gear. If todays performance is anything to go by, we have a TOP class player in the making. Cool

Nordtveit: First ive seen of him in person today, just liked the look of him. Comfortable with the ball, can tackle, head and has a bit of pace.

Adebayor songs: Big Grin

Most other players had decent games.

What are yours?

pretty much agree with you! Ramsey was great! Big Grin tbh the game was stale for most of it so not many of the players were at their best!

I think in pre-season its hard to judge performances - Bendtner didnt have a great game, nor did Theo - but from what i remeber of the Emirate Cup last year Bendtner didnt look too hot then either and went on to make a valuable contribution to the side.

Positives for me
Ramsay performance - looked very accomplished
Gael Clichy with captain's armband - hopefully see this more in the future!
Sagna - fit and on the pitch again, was missed last year
Jack Wiltshire - looked exceptional in the 2nd half, only turned 16 but id say he's a chance of being on the bench at least in the CC (wonder how long he's got to break Cesc record?)
Thought Randal looked good, put himself about (unfairly once) maybe after the Flamini role?
Jay Simpson - 1 chance 1 goal - cant complain there.

Negatives
Almunia, beat for the free kick - if you can get your hand to it you should keep it out (had a bit of G.Bale free kick about it)
Centre Backs - didnt think either had a decent game, but then they are the 6/7/8/9th choice CB's at the club and plenty of time to learn
Vela not playing - was there any explaination given?

Good to have the Arsenal back!

I agree re Bendtner. I have never rated him but he may prove me wrong.

I agree about Theo's performance today. As for the forthcoming season, the jury's out on how he will perform.

I do not agree that Denilson is our worst corner taker. He does get the ball past the first defender unlike some. He had an indifferent game today.

Ramsey was impressive.

Wilshere ditto.

I wasn't impressed with Nordveit. After he gave away the freekick that led top their goal, he seemed even more nervous.

I'm a bit concerned about GKs. Still not sure about Almunia. As an aside, I think the GK outfit is pants! What an awful colour!

We wwere too far away to hear the Ade songs, so can't comment.

Was also at the game today, those Adebayor songs where a good laugh!!
Ramsay was best player on the pitch for the first half, and Wilshere looked great cutting inside in the 2nd half. Feels good that football is back, can't wait to see who we bring in and the start of the season Big Grin

It's pre-season so any bad performances can't be taken too seriously, just about getting fit.

However, Wilshere really impressed me, the boy has got talent he really stood out.

Just important to get the win and a run out.

As usual Bendtner was rubbish..the only reason he is with us is that we cant afford more expensive strikers! his 9 goal return last season are value for money but, he gets by far more chances than that .. he is simply rubbish!

Nordtveit: carling cup starter .. clumsy at times but, better than Djouro .. needs alot of time still to establish

Ramsy .. good vision but, way to go

2nd half kids were much poorer than i expected

AFTER ALL, it was only pre-season freindly with a lower league opponent!

He is far from rubbish. Didn't have a good game though, but at this stage doesn't matter really.

Er okay how about two of the last three games he started - Everton and Derby where he was really pretty good. Some people never liked Bendtner, don't get it.

you picked the wrong games mate!

everton game .. the whole team had a bad game until the moment traore provided the cross as soon as he came on for Bendtner to scrore

Derby game .. we scored 6 goals away that day .. bendtner got only one of them

i think if we had Eduardo fit .. there is no place for Bendtner on the bench

Derby he created tonnes of chances, really impressed me even if it is only Derby.

Everton he played well again, dropped deeper and caused problems and got the winning goal. Eduardo is better but he is better than most strikers.
