I always knew that they would get away with it. They will get away with it, or the ban would not be lifted now.

What will happen is that they will get a ban but suspended for a certain number of transfer windows.

That would be such a joke after they got a suspended 3 point deduction for the Ashley Cole affair as well. Basically, they'll get away with it again.

Oh, what a big surprise! They will get away with it, no question. If not, they will know and make sure they do a lot of shopping in the after christmas sales.

This suspension is good news ...

Chelsea will be forced to buy as many players as they can in Jan

> World class are rarely available in the Jan window (Arshavin aside)
> You pay way over the odds whoever you get (Arshavin aside)
> They will over buy because of ACN and threat of future ban
> They wont sell any players because of ACN and threat of future ban
> Existing players will not be happy with the new found surplus
> They will get banned at least one window thus missing the most important one (summer)

Cant see a downside really Thumbs Up

Some good points plus won't players be cuptied for cup competitions too?

It would still be better if they didn't get this January. Then they'd have no time at all the improve the squad and be stuck with their aging team for over a year until January 2011 when they'd be doing the panic buying.

Sorry mate, that's nonsense.

You are arguing that Chelsea being allowed to buy players in janauary is better than them being banned. You what? To answer your points.

1. World class players are always available at the right price.
2. Chelsea always pay over the odds. It doesn't matter to them at all.
3. Yes, they will buy in january
4. No, they won't sell.
5. Existing players will not be happy. Maybe but are you saying that a smaller squad is better thana bigger squad of world class players. Sorry, its not.
6. They were already banned from next summer. Now they are not.

Can't see a downside? Then you're not looking.

Sorry mate, but I think you have missed the point.

With there legal power (like ours), Chelsea are very likely to either get a reduction or be cleared.

If you start from the assumption that they will get the "2 windows" reduced to 1 ... they are forced to panic buy in a shallow / short window paying over the odds for either cup tied or lesser players AND they will miss out on the main summer window.

When Chelsea spend big they buy established players, these players WILL NOT be available in the Jan window.
> David Villa or Silva wont be
> Rubery wont be
> Aguero wont be
> Ade might be Big Grin

This whole thing is turning daft should just hold their appeal before Jan can't take that long to sort, if they let them get away with it it'll make tapping up even worse

What was the ban for exactly? I know it was about that kid from a French team but what did they do?
