It's not the FA that needs to take a look at the Football Offenses Act; it's the police and CPS that need to apply the law. Rather than some trying to lay the blame solely on Club level occupants (though I understand that is probably a far more popular stance), it should be noted that there were those in the upper tier that took note of the throwing of objects and liquids during the Arsenal v Everton game.
I can't solely blame the police though when I'm sure that there are witnesses that don't want to be involved in any identification of the culprits for a variety of reasons.

The media furore is not so much at the fact that a coin was thrown it's about Drogba throwing it back. It's an opportunity for them to get at Chelsea , they've had their go at us now it's the chavs turn.

When you see what’s going on all over Britain today, a coin thrown from the stands is the least of the old bills problems TBH. They are totally powerless (unless your speeding past a camera of course). You have to feel sorry for them; the lack of the will to sort the Country out by Government over many many years leaves the police shackled and ineffective. When will we get any Politicians with @@@@s.

If so and I did not see it then we must be thankfull that whoever was nearest did'nt return it.
In the past I believe that John Barnes ate a banana and Gazza a Mars bar. Louis Figo however just lit a barbeque to cook the pigs head that was lobbed at him at the camp Nou.

if someoe threw a coin at me at a game, and i threw it back, if we were both caught on CCTV I reckon we'd both be banned from the ground for life .. and probably prosecuted by police ..
why do different rules apply for footballers? i don't understand the sympathy drogba is getting from some ... its noi nicer as a fan to get a coin thrown at you than it is for a player ... in fact the fan is stationary and easier to hit

TTS, I agree with you, but it goes much deeper than that. It goes to the mentality that no one wants to be involved and to just accept what is being done - either because that's the way it was in the past or because of a real feeling of impotence. The clubs are just as much at fault because they have the ability to narrow down the field by who is responsible for those seats in that area. The question is - would YOU identify someone who lobbed a coin or threw a drink or anything else at a player or the opposition if YOU were asked to do so because you were in the area? Or would you have selective amnesia? And that is not a 'you' in particular to you, TTS, but rather a generalized 'you'.
