Fair enough it may be a bit premature to start panicking but we have not won bugger all for ages and we wont win nowt this season either. complete lack of decent decision making from the board, manager and the players on the pitch. The time has come to stop faffing around if we win nothing again then i am afraid it should be time for a change. we have been using the same cack excuses for too long now, yet nothing been done to rectify it.

Thats just it, it is not premature. the jungle drums have been sounding for two years now. We all saw how we fell at the last hurdle last year becuase of the inadequate squad. Some on here fail to realise that we only had ONE!! ONE!! player missing these last games FAB. are you suggesting that cesc alone will be the saviour. What happens when he gets injured

You could argue that we only had 1 of our first choice midfield playing - Nasri.

I agree though that we need strenghting and it should not have come to a shock to anyone that Diaby and TR7 were unavailble. We got away with it last year and even if we put this defeat behind us and end up fighting for the league and lose by 3 points again, it will be these 3 points that have cost us - ie 3points down due to lack of depth in our squad.

Last year our squad was proven to be too short in numbers and quality - we have sold players and not strenghted to the standard of players that have left. I;m not crying out for an overhaul - simply if we had bought GBarry we would have enough cover.

I dont see how we dont have the money?!

Hoyte = 4mil
Senderos = 5mil
Bentley = 6mil
Mumamba = 2mil
Gilberto = 1mil

=18mil = 1 Gareth Barry

I'd love to see a table of net spending for each prem club summers spending for the last 4years to see how often and by how much clubs like Middlesboro, WestHam, Fulhum and Spurs have outspent us!

I think i am right in saying that since we have moved to the Emirates Wenger has actually made a profit on transfers.

Re spending daft money on transfers and wages.

There was some talk about forcing clubs to spend only as much as they get from income. Not more.

This seems like a good idea for ALL football clubs. Except Chelsea, of course.

Let's all get back to reality.

Players do not actually NEED mega wages.

Players are not really WORTH the millions spent in transfer fees.

It's all gone mad.

Agreed, but we were also missing Rosicky and Eduardo, both of whom make huge contributions when they are on the pitch (mind you, I think Rosicky has seen more of the physio than the manager in the past season).

I do agree though that it is not premature and that some of us were calling for strengthening last season before we had this clear-out with little to none coming in.

What we are talking about and discussing now couldnt be further away from Premature. 2 and half years of build up and hype to the squad being sold and nobody being purchased. Its scary and sad.
I know all about Premature and this isnt it Big Grin

How many years before 'transition' is no longer an effective excuse?

last year was long enough. But i've supported them for 35 years so far, so i guess i'll keep on supporting them when we finish 8th or worse this season

It's not a question of 'quit supporting' for the vast majority and to imply that criticism, concern or even frustration is going to immediately lead to the person expressing it to 'quit supporting' is tiresome. As is the old 'in the bad old days we went donkeys years without silverware' hair shirt. Only those who don't have a winning mentality fail to be frustrated by not winning.
