Senderos is the latest 'next Tony Adams' to fail to live up to the tag. After the likes of Weston, Rose, Upson and more recently Connolly were all supposed to be 'the next Tony Adams', Senderos went one further. He was given the number 6 shirt and last season was make or break for him. Unfortunately in the Liverpool game it turned out to be break! Even Gallas fell apart under the pressure of trying to be a Tony Adams type captain!

I'm disappointed as I really hoped that Senderos would make it. Will there ever be a new Tony Adams?

The only way to get a new Tony Adams would be to ask a random Mr and Mrs Adams to name one of there sons Tony...

Simple as, he'll never be replaced... Senderos even given the number 6 still infuriates me.

Anyone see his comments? Classic, bet United fans won't be too happy Big Grin

And Senderos hasn't gone, hopefully he'll prove himself in Milan come back and be the player we know he can be for us.

If he proves himself, Milan will take up the option to keep him, if he doesnt we;ll get back a player with even further dented confidence

I'd take Upson back in heartbeat - the only reason he didnt stay and make it Arsenal was the fact the real TA6 was in the team - as was Keown

Campbell and Upson could have been a good backline for us - we wouldnt have needed Gallas either

There is only 1 Tony Adams and no one can replace him thats the problem every defender we get is compared to him which isn't fair and instantly adds pressure to the player let them be themseleves, Adams was a one off.
