rsenal's injured midfielder Tomas Rosicky has confirmed he will miss the start of the new Premier League season.
The Czech Republic ace, who missed out on Euro 2008 through injury, underwent a knee operation in May after missing much of the season half of last term.
The former Borussia Dortmund playmaker had hoped to be fit for The Gunners' Premier League opener against West Brom on August 16.
However, Rosicky needs more time to recover fully from the injury and now hopes to return in September.
"I know I'll miss the start of the club season," he told Czech daily Sport.
"According to plans I should be back on the field in September."
I really really hope he makes it back we need him.
WOW thats a shock. Eduardo will be back befor him i bet. this operation he has ha was needed about 2-3 years ago. i rember when we bought him reading somewere that he gets injurd all the time and will keep getting injurd untill he has this operation, should of let him have it back when we first bought him.
we need him back as soon as possible, he will be a major player for us this season.
In many ways you can blame The Arsenal medical team for this. The Czech team doctors said he needed an operation when he joined us, we delayed and now that he has had it we will see if they were right.
