Most people on this forum knew there was loads more to come from Van parsie and Cesc.
At the moment Cesc is one of the best players in the world on current form. Its been a real step forward this season and some of our goals have just been amazing. Chelsea are strong this season but not in the style I like to watch. I cant see us winning the league because an injury to a defender will cause us massive problems but I do think we will finish second to Chelsea. Having said that I would call that winning the Prem because the way Chelsea play is dull. Yes they are scoring goals but they have always bored me. Arsenal on the other hand are finally playing the kind of football that you just love. So my point is it doesnt bother me if we come 2nd because im enjoying this season so much that it feels new again. Last few years have been tough and some players I have hated but finally this team is fit and we have great choice on the bench. I dont agree with leaving Eduardo on the bench all the time and never giving Vela a game. Mind you with the talent of Nasri, Arshavin, Van Persie and Walcott (if he gets fit) we are looking good. Overall Cesc is finally the man and since Rocastle I have always loved that attacking midfield kind of player. If we do win the Prem then this will be almost as amazing as 1989. |

I agree with most of what you say Rocky but I feel if we do win the PL it will exceed 1989.In those days Liverpool were the strongest team by far but now there are half a dozen teams who could win the Premiership.Personally I feel Chelsea will be too strong but if we are lucky with injuries and keep our form who knows.

The best thing about our current form is it keeps the whingers and Wenger out brigade off here. Explains why it`s so quiet on here today?

It's exciting seeing Fabreagas scoring so many goals. Since Pires and Ljungberg left we've lacked genuine goalscoring midifielders but with Fabregas and Arshavin in the new formation that looks to be changing.

if we come 2nd it would be an achievement, considering noone thought we would amount to anything this season. but rolling out the chelsea are boring thing again is boring itself. do you really think chelsea fans or players are worried that people think theyre boring? if they win things they will not care. in the graham days we were touted as boring, did we care? no we didnt. i hope the arsenal players dont have the same attitude as you because i want them to want to win the league and if they finish 2nd i want them to be disappointed. i dont want them to think "hey were 2nd but look at the great football we play and how boring chelsea are, were the real winners here, yippee" i want them to be totally gutted and determined to try to win it the next year, not be happy with 2nd, noone remembers 2nd place do you think in 89 the liverpool team and fans thought, oh well were 2nd but arsenal play boring football, well claim the moral victory? |

Can`t disagree with you Paulinho. GG's sides were often better to watch than they were credited for but they did know how to protect a lead and close a game down.

If this team wins the league not only will it be Wengers biggest achievment (including the unbeaten season) but it will be the most shocking title win of the PL era.
No one not even our own expected anything but a battle for 4th with some predicting a drop out of the top 4, even with Lazy and Toure leaving and a bunch of kids that struggled last season nothing was really expected from this bunch. Long way to go yet though. |

I'd like to think we can... It would be a huge achievement for us to win the league, but as others have said a long long way to go yet!
Yes we play super football, but do we have a plan B on a cold, windy, wet afternoon in Bolton? Anyway enough of the negatives and here is to some trophies to celebrate in May! |

We can't defend, Chelseas can. That will likely be the difference.
We can batter bad teams 4 or 5 nil. Can we beat the good teams? We've lost 2 out of 2 of them so far. |

You always mention that but United last seaosn lost to a lot of the big teams last year and still won the title. Its how many points you get at the end of the seaosn not which team you beat. |

Yes, we've been doing it consistently for years. While not winning trophies. That comment also suggests that you didn't watch the OT game or are ignoring what happened in it. United have just lost to Liverpool and Chelsea. But you're not making the same point about them. I'm not saying we will win the title. But what I know for a fact is that many of our own fans would still be moaning up until about a week before we do win it. Surely the penny should have dropped by now with fans that we are a better side than last year and have a chance at least. |
