My thoughts would be that IF it was the board restricting spending he'd never say, not now, and not when he is no longer at the club (should that day come). He's got too much class for that sort of sniping.

does Arsene get a percentage of money from the profits the club makes? thats the only way I can see him not spending this money which we do have - we are the richest club in the world - we have debts fro the stadium I know but we have a good financial plan which means we still have money for transfers. If he does we need a new manager or we need him to not get those profits no more.

Im inclined to think its a battle of wills to a degree...

I think the boss would be happy enough to throw money for players he believes make the grade, but that he's probably not as free as we all would hope he is for whatever reason.

The thing we have to contend with is that on the one hand we are lucky to not have an Oligarch playing puppet master - on the other hand it DOES take a fair amount of money, even a bit more than we are used to seeing spent by this club, to get the powerhouse players that we do need.

I think there are aspects to this that we just arent going to know about...

He does say

“The strategy of the club is to sell every year and to buy less expensive players.”
and
“The club’s strategy is to favour the policy of youngsters ahead of stars and to count on the collective quality of our game.”[/quote]

If thats the case then we are fecked unless we get an Alan Hansen jibe about kids winning titles.

How many 'young upstarts' have won the premiership title in the past 4 seasons?
None!

Fergie does not have any recent club produced youngsters in his regular 1st team squad.
