You can't have one rule for one and another rule for everyone else. Regardless of where you live in the world, if I lived in Cambodia and Arsenal said they'd give me 20 credits for attending Newcastle everyone would get an address in Cambodia to gain more credits or basically anywhere else in the world.
I thin the Away scheme is an impulsive attempt to get people on board. If you intend on going to every single away game then I guess the away scheme works but otherwise I don't see the benefit of it other than people wanting an FA Cup final ticket at the end of it all. Most away games for Arsenal go down to 10 credits now simply because most people cannot afford to go to all the games. Most season ticket holders have difficulty affording the price for their season ticket and a lot of the corporate seats go to clients who want to entertain as part of a business policy. Also if people knew they would get more credits for a certain game some people would be getting tickets for that game anyway and selling it on as well. |

The Away Ticket Scheme does *not* come with an FA Cup Final or even Semi-Final ticket. It only covers up to the FA Quarter-finals, but does cover to the final of the Carling Cup. Doesn't cover the final of the Champion League either.
Because my husband and I enjoy travelling and love football, we go to all the away games along with the home games. It does give a different perspective to the games and, frankly, I love the atmosphere of the away supporters -- no library at away games that is for sure! |

I didn't mean you get a FA Cup final ticket at the end of it but people believe they have a chance to. From what I have heard though, every away scheme member has got a FA Cup final ticket in the past although it was a little different for United Arsenal because our ticket allocation had further decreased as the FA wanted more tickets.
Although I have known that Semi Final tickets are part of the away scheme and people I know on away schemes have always got their tickets for semi-finals as well especially supporters clubs who use this facility. I know most people on the away schemce sell their tickets on if they can't go to a game. I do feel the atmosphere at away games are generally better but sale of away tickets have gone down over the years and I saw a lot of empty seats last season. This goes with the advertising of away scheme memberships this season. I know some parts of highbury have a better atmosphere than others and if you sit further forward you get a better atmosphere than sitting at the back of a stand as well i.e. sitting at the front of the North Bank is better than sitting at the back of the North Bank, simply because the noise from behind all reaches you to the front. This is the same all over the world. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Broccoli Sagna, |
