Yes I saw that and it looked tempting , its virtually the equivalent of a season ticket , probably more so. But I couldn't guarantee I could make every match due to work , kids etc . I think I looked at it at the end of July and there were limited places left , but I'll definately consider it for the future. Do you get discount on those tickets because you are buying so many or are there no concessions.

They were advertising a few away scheme places remaining a week or so ago.
I do think it's a valid point about the further you travel, the greater the credits but the flip side of the argument is that one could get a member, been to 10 away matches losing out to somebody who had been to 2 put got more credits because they were further away from Highbury even though that member might live up north & only travellled a few miles!

West bank nutter, you might want to rethink your idea of re-selling your away tickets. It's a violation of the Football Act, regardless of what you sell the ticket for and how many tickets you sell, and I know that the police and the CPS are really taking a tough stance on football touts now. It would be up to them as to whether they would overlook your single sale and simply fine you, or whether they would opt to look at a fine, jail, and/or football banning order. With the World Cup looming, all effort is being made to keep football hooligans, and that includes the ticket sellers, away from the games in Germany. I think you'll see a lot more banning orders this year.
Plus Arsenal has a policy that if you can't use the ticket, you are to return the ticket to them. I believe that if they can resell it for you, they will -- or you could always donate it to their charitable group so that someone less fortunate can go to a game.
We're Away Scheme Members so we don't worry about away credits for anything except the FA Cup semi and final -- and the away credits count for naught on those.

unfortunatly no. such is life but on the upside you need no credits and it means games such as spurs and man ure your definatly getting a ticket. no hassle of a postal application. i would consider it but i feel and the end of this season ill have enough credits where i wont need to join it as i will miss a fair few games.

My niece works for the FA coaching children etc. She got 2 Tickets each for the FA cup , Community shield and all home England Internationals all free. With the Fa Cup her dad (my brother in law) got the other ticket cos he supports Man Utd . boy was I annoyed at Newcastle for not knocking MU out then grrrr. I couldn't go to the community shield cos I was away. Just my luck. But yep your right Fester the tickets that go flying around to non-fans are unbelievable.

sierra im not an away scheme member. so ive got nothing to worry about. i no people who are on the west ham away scheme and just pass on tickets if they cant make it.
also about the more credits for the further you go etc. i understand where your coming from but for games way up north and european games i think 2 credits instead of 1 is nicer.

Sierra, when I joined the away scheme this year I *think* I read the tickets were non refundable to the club.
Of course I could be wrong, do you know if I can send them back for a refund?
I will go to every game bar one when im on holiday, but just in case of emergencies or anything.

West Bank Nutter, I am a firm supporter of giving more credit for those European championship games and for the games further up north. I certainly agree that two credits instead of one is more fair -- actually some of the inhospitable, hard to get to games should have three just for perserverance **wink**. In all seriousness, I feel Arsenal should look at a more equitable away scheme plan.
It was nothing more than friendly advice on the reselling the ticket. I was at the Crime in Sports conference and know firsthand that the plan is to eliminate as many law-breakers as possible so we don't get a black eye from adverse public relations by hooligans and touts from England being at the World Cup games. There will be some non-touts who are selling one or two tickets for a game that they couldn't attend that will be caught up in it too, I'm sure. But, the upside is that if they get rid of enough touts there will be more tickets available to silver and red members since the touts will be banned from being around football stadiums and Arsenal will remove the names of the ticketholders from their membership lists, meaning that the people that the touts got the tickets from or the names they used will no longer be able to purchase. All in all it will be better for the average non-season-ticket-holder because more tickets will be available for sale at normal club prices.

Allyboy we once got a refund on Newcastle away at the end of the season in a almost meaningless match midweek.
Also last season when one of the group was no longer going we managed to get a refund directly from Bolton's box office. Alas Boro didn't do the same so I just gave it to them in case of anyone came along but they had plenty spare anyway.

Last year Tottenham went to 18 credits.
That means you had to go to 18 games over the past 2 seasons to qualify. It started 25 went to 20 and then to 18.
Manchester United dropped to 12 or 8 I think. So anyone who went to 8 away games could apply and that's 4 games a season over the past two.
I know a guy who hardly goes to away games but went to United, Chelsea and Tottenham. He phoned up last week and his credits are at 21.
Figure it out yourself.
Basically, choose your games wisely but don't go mental applying for every game.

The number of people applying for tickets has taken a huge nosedive. It was very high after the double season but before that I didn't have trouble getting tickets ever and I'm going back to the eighties here!!
I think anyone who applies early will get tickets. I think the only problem game now is Spurs for fans but I am sure anyone who wants to go Anfield and Old Trafford with about 8 credits will get a ticket.
