What we need to do is keep our players fit and improve the quality of the squad.
That's what I've been saying...more or less anyway! I feel we need about 4 more, just to ensure that we can cope with the amount of injuries we have had over th last 2 seasons.

Nasri down, 4 to go Big Grin, it really isn't a big number if you consider the fact that I'm looking for maybe 1 player to challenge for the starting 11 and then about 3 squaddies! If not, we better have a clean bill of health for the majority of the season!

Eduardo, Van Persie and Rosicky were to stay fit i think we would only need to add to centre midfield someone who goes straight into the first XI.

if we sign this guy Bischoff and let Gilberto that evens itself out, provided we bring in a Flamini replacement. Personally i think we need a Lehemen replacement but there is no point discussing that as the boss has clearly made a decision not to bring in a new keeper (from what he's said and the squad numbers)

I think the lack of quality in our squad last year will be rectified with the improvement of Walcott and the arrival of Vela, i also think with 7subs per gam Ramasy will be involved with the first team on the bench quite a bit, even if its just to make up the numbers

Is that official yet? Great way to give the young ones a run if we're dominating a match unexpectedly!

The 7 subs ruling is official starting this season I think. Also, if you look at the First Team list on our web site you'll see Ramsey listed there.

No doubt more players to be added-i'm still not convinced about Gallas & Toure as our CB partnership; & really don't see Senderous as being able to cut it when facing top notch players-sooner or later you know that an awful mistake is going to occur-so I would still like a top class physical CB bringing in, but looks unlikely now.

However, we do need a quality replacement for Flamini-given the importance of that position in modern football I don't think we can afford to take a chance on Diaby or Denilson staying injuty free, & being able to provide the steel that position requires throughout a campaign if we want to push the mancs & chavs all the way next year.

"Eduardo is likely to be one of three Arsenal players to miss the start of the season after news broke that Kolo Toure had been diagnosed as suffering from malaria. Tomas Rosicky will not return until September after only undergoing an operation on his thigh in late May despite the injury ruling him out of action from January."

With the players sold and injured, we'll be missing

Rosicky
Eduardo
Kolo
Song
Gilberto
Hleb
Flamini
Lehmen

and obviously question marks over the fitness of RVP and dont forget Diaby and Sagna are recoverying from injuries at the end of last season.

Yet Wenger says he want to bring in ONE more player.

With Hoyte and Traore gone and Senderos possibly leaving

Are we now worse off by only signing Silvestre?

In:
Vela
Ramsey
Bischoff
Nasri
Silvestre

Out:
Lehmann
Flamini
Hleb
Gilberto
Hoyte
Senderos???

So, 6 players out and 5 players in...is that good enough? Definitely not!!! I know some youths will be promoted to the first team, but our squad was thin last season and we really could have done with adding a few more bodies. Will our injury situation improve this season? No one knows for sure, but I wouldn't count on it! Our squad is too small to win the league unless we have virtually no injuries all season, cup competitions are always a possibility...yay Roll Eyes

Add Traore to that list of players out - fringe player admittedly, but as much as Hoyte and would have started in the Carling Cup and the dead rubber Champions League games (doubt we'll have many of those this year).

You could also add Diarra to the list of players out to show how limited our squad has become in CM.

why let Senderos, Traore, Hoyte go? when we was short on defence anyway and bring in injury man Silvestre? its a joke. why let Flamini, Gilberto and Hleb go when I only see Nasri brought in as a replacement. If it is true that Djourou is also going on loan to Rennes then we are ****ed
