This is to provide members of the forum with an outline as to what guidelines the mods work to, giving an idea of what is & isn’t allowed on the boards.
Whilst this is no means a complete set of rules, it will hopefully prove a useful guide for all who post here on the boards. Profanities: Certain expletives will not be permitted on Board in line with the Arsenal’s editorial policy. The profanity filter will be added to on a rolling basis. When a word in the filter is posted the word is automatically replaced with asterisk. If in doubt the moderators can leave an asterisk word which implies swearing, providing the message is mainly positive in tone, e.g. “I thought last nights game was ******* great”. If the word is mainly negative in tone, then the moderators will remove the message, e.g. “I thought Drogba was a ******* **** in last nights game. He’s such a *****” Contact Details We will not allow any contact details such as ‘phone numbers, email addresses, ICQ Numbers, MSN Names or similar. We also cannot accept the posting of details of commercial businesses i.e. telephone numbers, addresses, email address, etc. Obscenity & Indecency Any obscene material, (race, religion & offensive sexual material) will be removed immediately (this includes threats, harassment, incitement, abusive swearing, gender, religious, etc...). Copyright Copyright is protection by law of the creator of a work for their lifetime plus 70 years. For the purposes of Moderation, protected work is literary, and includes written or spoken words, emails, postings, translations, even dictionary definitions and lyrics. If whilst moderating we become aware of a message which contains a large extract of content, that does not look like it has been written by the original author or the users states the content was written by another party, the message will be removed To define the difference, we can accept small extracts of information which credit an author but we cannot accept large extracts regardless of whether they credit the author. This guide will be added to should the need arise, but for now I think that these cover a lot of the recent concerns. Live Streaming Sites - matchday coverage. Forum members are advised that posting links to sites showing live matches, other than authorised approved sites, will have their post removed. Posting links to such sites will breach FAPL rules and on occasions Arsenal's own copyright. Persistent posting will potentially see users have their posting privileges removed. Thanks everyone.
