seems to me there is to many people slaging off fans without season tickets calling them plastic. just because im not putting £3500 into the club next season i got swore at told to fu..off and support chelsea.we have silver memberships to compensate for that, have u ever thought those plastic fans are working there asses off to take care of thier familys and its either go football or fed the kids,i salute them for that and it dont make them anyless important than me or any 1 else, a lot of u said good il have ur ticket next year, i dowt u can afford it, simple reason being if u could u would already have a club level seasn ticket, dose it mean if u aint got an st u aint aloud to support arsenal anymore. only the few thousand with them are real supporters, what a load of rubbish, the so called plastics prob have sky who pay the wages,so backoff grow uplong live the working man doing an honest days work for prob very little.

Dave, reading back through that thread, I don't think that is why people called you 'plastic' or told you to go support Chelsea or the Spuds. It was because you said that you weren't going to renew your 'season ticket' (albeit a club level) simply because we aren't winning as much as you would like. Love you dearly, mate, but I understand exactly what irritated some of them.

It was the way that you expressed your frustation. I know you so I know that you are not going to give up going to see Arsenal simply because they are *only* third place at the moment and not winning some games that people think we should win readily. I also know the financial sacrifices that you made to be able to pay for that club level seat this year and that it was always doubtful that you'd do so again next year.

Sometimes when we are angry, the best thing to say is nothing at all. Trust me, I'd be banned in a heartbeat if I said exactly what I wanted to say after reading some of the tripe regarding our 'entitlement'. Frowner Venting is great, but when we vent, we have to remember that words said in anger are not simply words because they can never be taken back and are not forgotten by the other person -- no amount of 'I'm sorry, I really didn't mean that, I was angry/frustrated' will erase those words, spoken or written.

That's probably the most frustrating -- trying to figure out whether people are just angry and frustrated or if they really dislike that many players, the manager, the club and everything else without many good words to balance it.

CLG, is it more of a case of you're annoyed at the graft you put in just to afford your ticker, and that some of the players can't be bothered to put in the effort for tens of thousands a week?
I know near the end of Pires' time he annoyed me like that. Perhaps wages should be more linked into performance

LOL!!! My expertise was more in dissolving marriages or keeping you out of prison!!

But, in all seriousness, if some of these people vented in the same manner to their partners, they'd not be long for any viable relationship! But then that is probably true.

The philosophy about venting is one that would stand many people in good stead!

I know, Dave. It doesn't pay to get angry with people on a forum. Ask yourself if the majority of them will ever have an impact on your life, if they were the sort that you'd be friends and want to share a drink with, and whether in the scheme of life if they are important to you. Forums should, in my opinion, be for an exchange of views, not for slagging off any other supporter or even for that matter, player, manager or the club.

Thanks for always thinking of us about games. You're a rough and tumble kind of guy, but you are very genuine and I know you always have my back.

If you can renew your club level without it impacting your life detrimentally, great! If you decide not to, then *I* know that it's not because you won't pay to see the team unless they are winning. The rest -- do you really care if they understand that? Wink

No, BSC, don't you know that to be a 'real' fan, one must pule and whinge and pulverize our own team.

Despite what's going on? Yeah, despite having the one of the best stadiums in the world, and definitely the best club stadium in the UK. Despite having very talented players that didn't put us into hock. Despite having a manager that most clubs in the world would love to be burdened with. Despite having a trophy/title history in the last ten years that most clubs would be envious of. Despite having youngsters who are completing their learning curves this year and will be a force to be reckoned with over the next seasons (and if you don't want to believe that, simply ask other clubs' supporters what THEY think). Despite having beaten Liverpool three times this year (so far), ManUtd twice, the Spuds twice (and going to make it three times), and drawing Chelsea once so far. Despite *only* being a very unrespectable third in the league -- how dare we do that poorly.

To hear some of you talk, I'd have thought we were third from the bottom and not the top.

Complain away. It does make interesting reading. Now if I could only wrap my fish in it!
