So Phoenix - how was the coach journey to/from East Belgium?! Get much sleep?
I would have taken the club coach to Celtic, Liege and Alkmaar if they didn't leave so stupidly early on the day of the game. Let's see - it will take about seven hours to get there, so lets leave FIFTEEN hours befoere kick off AT 0400 IN THE MORNING!!! |

It was a marathon. I am absolutely shattered, but wouldn't have missed it for anything. The worst part of the coach journey was that we took a double-decker. The extremely early hours are a killer, especially as one has to get up, do one's ablutions, then ( in my case ) drive to London Gateway to leave there at 04:15! The early start is in order for the driver to be legit and therefore get his 9 hours of rest! Alkmaar is an even longer journey with a much earlier start and later return. |

Brilliant!! You couldn't make it up!!!! Arsenal, Cheap! Never!!! I cannot stop laughing about this!! So the driver drives from 0400 until 1200 and then is forced to miss the match and go and sleep (I presume he sleeps IN the coach as a hotel would cost money!!!) so that he can drive back from 2300 until 0600. Presumably that is also the reason for the bizarre departure times to Celtic?! Well that has well and truly put me off travelling any distance with Arsenal travel!!!! PS. On the basis that Arsenal travel will look to save money don't bet on the mode of transport to Olympiacos being by air!!! PPS. Glad you enjoyed the trip - I bet you were wondering why you had bothered after 6 minutes?!! |
