I have been offered the use of a season ticket next season and therefore will probably not be able to afford to renew my AS membership too.

What do you reckon my chances are of getting back on the season after??

I think it will be fairly easy to get back on to the AS - not many people like the commitment of being tied to away games (IMO)

P.S: - why dont you get them to transfer your current credits on the AS to your gold membership when you get it. That way, you wont need to go on the away scheme again, cos as long as you have credits, you will have cup Final/semi priority Smiler. TC priviledges also come as complimentary

Those TC members with the highest amount of away credits get prioritised for games at neutral venues!!

Oh, wait a minute....

Sounds like the ST isnt in his name so he probably won't be able to transfer them. Do you have travel club at moment? If so best to keep that running in case you want some away tickets particuarly London games.

They don't keep a waiting list for AS so possible you could get back on it next season but don't think I would like to risk it. Nobody you know want to take it over for the season?

Thanks for the replies..

I will definitely renew my Travelclub membership as once you come off that you cannot get back on - I believe Arsenal are gradually phasing it out and are not taking 'new' members. Also, of course, I have 40+ credits on it!!

And, as somebody mentioned, the proposed gold membership isn't in my name so I couldn't transfer them over not that I would want to anyway as the ST is only probably for one season anyway..

I wouldn't really want somebody to take on my away scheme membership for the season either - especially as I will definitely go to a large handful of away games anyway. I just wouldn't be able to commit to going to them all from a financial point of view - which is a great pity cos I love going to away games..

I am really in a quandry on what to do Confused As I said I love going to away matches and giving up the away scheme and the related benefits is REALLY risky - the guaranteed match ticket for 'neutral venue' matches being the top one IMO and knowing my luck we will have a storming season and be in all three finals!!!

And then in a years time when I have to give the gold card back and find I cannot get back onto the away scheme Eeker

But the prospect of a gold membership for one season is extremely tempting..

All I need now is for Arsenal to offer me an upgrade of my red to Silver!

For what it's worth I would keep my away scheme over a gold any day.

Do we have to renew our AS membership? I thought that we only had to opt out if we wanted to.

Yeah we do Phoenix, a bit like how we renewed the travel club thingy as well..

We will have to pay the membership fees again I think Smiler should all come to 40£ (or so) if it's the same as last year

The AS was opened up to new members at the end of last year, not sure if this is a recurring thing but if it's offered again this season then it probably is. Especially with more people not wanting the financial commitment of it at the current time.

And, even ignoring the fact that A.S. is better than home matches, its also cheaper over a year and you're effectively paying weekly rather than in one lump, and if you have money problems you may be able to sell the odd ticket to a mate to save travelling ("credit crunch" in mind) so definitely worth keeping!!
