Just been checking times and cost. Very annoyed to find that because of engineering work, trains have been replaced with buses between Ingatestone and Liverpool St station on 2 May! God give me strength! Public transport is the pits.
Morning Phoenix Happy Easter. Are the Travel Club not running coaches?
I've been AWOL RR. The garden called to me like a siren I'm sure TC will run coaches but they don't go to LG or South Mimms. I'd have to get to the stadium, which still means the train problems to Liverpool Street. 2 May is allegedly the last weekend, of ten, for the engineering works. Travelling to matches has really been a labour of love. The things we do for our club.
I live on the Waterloo and Portsmouth line and travel up to Highbury for every home game.
Be aware that on South West Trains you can use a ticket called 'group save' by which three or FOUR people can travel for the price of two. So if you are travelling with mates that halves the cost. You can also take four kids for a £1 each.
Few people know of this scheme and I think the train companies are happy to keep it that way.

Train tickets are only £9 return on southern rail from Victoria. Select the 12:02 train direct to fratton, and the 17:37 back to victoria with one stop. Or if you flex your times a bit more, the tickets are as little as £6 return
I got my tickets a while ago from megatrain.com. They sell you tickets on the slow, unpopular trains from vitoria run by southwest. They take a couple hours but it was only £6 each way for trains at good times.
