It was a good defencive display by the lads, lots of movement covering all the gaps. Thought the Welsh lads did well

Not sure about that. Lord Chelmsford didnt pack his midfield and the zulu wingers came in round the sides and routed the defence. The cry of '3-0 to Cetewayo' was humiliating...

The teams at Rorke's drift were captained by Gonville Bromhead for the British and Prince Dabulamanzi kaMapande for the Zulus.

The Zulus with good home support of about 4500 set up in the "horns of the beast" formation while the British 24th foot played a holding formation watched by about 139 very vocal fans they did play a few home grown players who were signed from the Natal irregulars a few weeks earlyer.

At kick off the Zulu's had good territorial advantage but lack of trainning hampered there overall advantage. After losing the match to the Zulu's at Isandlwana the British team held thier defence tight and counter attacked where possible.

The Bitish team eventually won due to supirior tactical awareness by the captain and the Zulu's having played two games in 24 hours began to tire toward the end

In their tour of the Zulu lands during the spring of 1879 the British team played 5 won 4 lost 1. This was thier only tour to play the Zulu's.

9 years later they did go back to South Africa to play the Boers in 2 games which was a trial run for the grand tour in the 99/00 season

Very good (and interesting) as well as being historically correct except for `the Zulu`s having played two games in 24 hours`.The Zulu`s who attacked Rorkes Drift were held in reserve at the battle of Isandlwana and took no part in the battle thats why they were hungry for action and the chance to `wash` their spears.

If the British Empire still existed the world would be a far better and more peaceful place.

I`ve had some great debates about the British Empire but as Radford says this is not the place for it.
