Hello

Is there any fans here who turn up at real football games in the non-league?

I don't count the Conferences too much because a lot of them are/were the last time I heard, full time teams

I support Molesey FC in the Combined Counties Premier Division and there are so many good things about non-league football:

1. The price - Its cheap, food, entrance to the ground and a program for under £10

2. Theres more passion - The players drink in the clubhouse with the fans and we'll all have a laugh together. I run the forum for Molesey FC, non-league clubs are often like small communities.

3. The standard of football - I think quite a few people may be surprised by the standard of football from most non-league teams, its not that bad usually every match is entertaining.

If there was a choice between going to watch Molesey on a cold night or staying in and watching Arsenal, I'd choose Molesey every day of the week. I missed our entire run to the Champions League final because I was at Molesey (I only saw the final because Moleseys game was postponed)

If you can't afford Premiership football or for whatever reason bored or disillousioned with it, why not go down and find your local team? I know you will be welcomed

Real football with players who only play for their love of the game as opposed to overpaid players who couldn't give a 2 bob bit about the fans

yet you are on here, an arsenal forum, who have players that you most probably despise, and are not real footballers

I think you'll find that most non-league fans have a full time club they love just as much as they love their non-league club

Supporting Molesey and supporting Arsenal are two very different things

Of course I'd see Molesey more I know every fan and player

Arsenal is a luxury, paying £40 plus expenses is a ridiculous amount to spend on something that lasts 90 minutes

I am an Arsenal fan and go to a few games every season, but its a day out with all the quiet people at games it can even be boring. At Molesey every fan is passionate and everyone sings, its FUN. Remember that before all the pressure which comes from going to a game now brings. You can't swear or stand or do anything from the long list of rules, theres even a system to grass in other fans through the texts!

Call me a less passionate fan if you want but you'd be wrong. I just don't want to spend so much money on going to a game with 60,000 other people but only know the man next to me, wheres the banter? Or the passion from half the fans? Sitting at the Emirates is often like sitting at a morgue

Sorry for the tirade but I am a passionate fan, I just can't pay the prices every week and found Molesey to be a more enjoyable experience

Yeah been Edgware Town (before their ground was sold) and Harrow Borough.

Good day out, proper football.

non league footie is crap, you usually find one man and his dog, a group of train spotters and some 12 to 16 spotty oinks who think they are the local massive and boast about going on the hooligan rampage - when the most they have ever done is nick some pens from Argos

last time i went i had the awful experience of standing next to some smelly old bloke who spent most of time listening to the PL footie results on a small white radio and drinking tea out of a flask, all though i did have the pleasure of stepping accidently on his white radio, when he put it down on a step and i stepped backwards on to it

awful experience - give me the Arsenal anytime

Just like at Arsenal...

Chunky Monkey - You clearly had a very bad experience, but you'll only get the full effect if you turn up regularly and get involved

i like it am a season ticket holder for woking fc. as the original poster said you can get a lot closer to the players often chatting to them in the club bar. for some you feel more a part of the club than in the bigger prem teams where your viewed as a customer more than a fan and if you have a family and cant afford to pay out £100+ a game and want your children to experience football more regularly then it is more affordable.
