I always watch the programme because sometimes there are great debates I`ll watch tonight because that odious creep Nick Griffin of the BNP is on the panel.
I`m sure he will sound quite reasonable as he may be a nasty piece of work but he`s not stupid.
Probably the usual rent-a- crowd will be out in force but as hateful as the BNP is they are a legal party with two MEP`s.Hopefully, people will see what BNP actually stands for and when the election comes along vote accordingly.

i agree Rainham - they are a legit party and should be allowed to voice there opinions / views as much as Labour, Tories and the Lib Dems

Although they will never get in to power

Hope your right Chunky but I imagine political parties in Germany in the 1920`s were saying the same thing about the Nazi`s.

I have to disagree with both you and Chunky. Although the old saying of " know thine enemy may be true, I will not even give him a hearing. Why should I? I know what he stands for and what his policy is. Why are any, allegedly, right-minded people prepared to listen to him?
I am not sure that his hateful party will not come into power. They have 2 MEPs already, so some people agree with them. What is to say that there will not be more sympathisers in the next election and the one after that? They have already beaten the legal system in this country, because their racist policy is contary to law, but they can proceed with impunity.
I am not fooled or lulled into a false sense of security.

I understand what you are saying but I think people should listen to the policies of ALL parties and make up their minds accordingly.I don`t think the British people are that stupid that they would be taken in by Parties like the BNP.

i have no allegiance to any political party. in fact i have never voted.

i can understand the anger with certain sections of our society, but i would be dismayed if ANY british citizen would be denied the right to free speach, especially on a government funded tv station.

I am sad rather than angry, to think that an out and out racist is given credence in the 21st century. It shows that we have not made much progress in our race relations, since I would've hoped, that so-called right thinking people wouldn't even bother with him. Frowner

Completely agree. Im not Griffin fan- far from it. But freedom of speech should be applied to all people.

I agree 666, I detest everything he stands for and imo bnp is the thin end of the wedge but we are a democracy

The problem is he`ll be reasoned and plausible. The hidden agendas won`t be revealed. One of the Euro MPs they had elected was the chairman of the NF. Nuff said. Now they have been ordered to accept members from other racial groups, everyone should join it, get them out and close them down.

I seldom watch that programme anyway. Whilst agreeing that celebrities are as entitled to their own opinion as I am, I don`t see why they should be given a platform for their amateur views. Will Self in particular. Glenda Jackson at least gave up showbiz for her beliefs. Lovely woman BTW; photographed her once.

I agree with you (there`s a surprise) about celebrities being on Question Time but when they have serious people on it can be riveting.
In an earlier post you suggested that lots of people should join the BNP and then close it down.I was going to post exactly the same thing. Now they have to accept non-caucasians Blacks,Asians,Jews etc should all join and once in the marjority vote to disband the party.
