The second night we ate at Cantina Vinopolis at the Vinopolis Museum. I usually shy away from restaurants at museums but i was really impressed with this one. Naturally their wine list was outstanding and their food was fantastic. It is a simple place, wood chairs and tables, no table clothes, wine racks everywhere, open kitchen. It was relaxed, very nice servers, and the area is great right on the Thames and near the millenium bridge and all that. It was a nice evening with the girlfriend being able to walk from St. Pauls, over the bridge, into the Tate Modern for a spell, then along the thames to the restaurant. afterwards we had a drink outside at the riverside bar that was there, forget the name. I'd recommend the evening to anyone

Sounds great, haven't been to Patara but have been to Cantina Vinopolis. The south bank is great these days.

One place I think you'd like next time if you haven't been is the Cinnamon Club. Best Indian chef in London imo. Flash indian as Radford might call it. But actually a bit different. Its Indian with a European twist. Vivek Singh has done a great cookbook called Curry too if you can't wait for your next visit. In the old Westminster library. Great building. Another good Indian at the higher end of the scale is Benares in Mayfair. Again a bit different. I think it might be closed at present for refurb.
