What was wrong with that? Try this then. There is a very nice Italian restaurant in the high street opposite a big, popular supermarket that has blue and white bags. The Italian restaurant is next to a very large purveyor of American fast food which may suit you better.

The American fast food outlet took over the premises of the only pub I know in Borehamwood. Some reasonable country pubs around the area. Try Shenley.

Not a traditional holiday/tourist destination....

As Snapper said, maybe look into the more countrified areas of Herts for pubs... Haven't been round that way for a while. Think Reg is an expert on pubs round that way actually.

BTW, Borehamwood is a big Arsenal area but the town itself isn`t great. You`re well placed to get into the countryside or back into Barnet or Potters Bar, which has more restaurants per head of population than is realistically necessary. There used to be three Beefeaters there!
